One Park Place Condos For Rent

One Park Place Condos For Rent

I remember when I was looking for a place to live years ago, there were your standard-go-to buildings that were available: Queens Quay, Scollard, Manulife, Esplanade, Polo club, Maitland, 10 Yonge St (did I just reveal my age?)…

But now, it’s unbelievable what is available for rent in Downtown Toronto. You’ve got the whole West-End area filled with different developers building beside each other competing for tenants from King & Bathurst all the way past Liberty Village to Sudbury St. The rental prices have been pretty consistent at $1400/month for a 1 bedroom up to $2600/month for a 2 bedroom, maybe with parking.

Then you have the random buildings along Adelaide and Richmond St. which are also the same rate but are quite small and dark as many of the units don’t have balconies, and if they do, they are really small.

And let’s not forget the strongest winds in condo living all along Queens Quay with the worst and the longest construction zone in downtown. The rent along here is slightly cheaper and each condo has a different layout so you never know what you will get. Some of the buildings are really old and others have been renovated, some are new, there is no sense of community or trend .

Then if you go a little more east to Spadina there is a village of condos expanding out to our historic Fort York. It should have its own area code as there are thousands of renters within this small area. The traffic is horrendous.

So what’s my point?

Well I have found a really great area that I think is amazing to rent. It’s the new Regent Park, that’s right the old hood has become a great community filled with new condos that have great layouts for couples, roommates and even for bachelors. Each building has great amenities and large balconies, and almost all of them have lockers.

In fact my new favorite building is One Park Place which is located at 170 Sumach St. Wow for $1400, I wish I was single and looking for my first rental again. The fixtures are fantastic, hardwood floors, high ceilings, modern & sleek appliances. The amenities in this building are by far the best I’ve seen in a while, as I appreciate a good gym when I see one, and this one is amazing!

And of course the name; “One Park Place”. Remember Monopoly? We all wanted to land on that spot. The building is brand new so there are quite a few suites being released and once the word is out, they will be gone within a week like the other condos in Regent Park. Who would have thought?
