Official Opening for 6-acre New Park Title: Official Opening - Regent Park You are cordially invited to join us, this Saturday, in the official opening of the 6-acre Regent Park. On Saturday, June 21, the City of Toronto comes together to celebrate the opening of Toronto’s newest City park, with dance, drums, songs, and orchestra. Entertainment for the celebration is directed by choreographer Bill Coleman of Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie, musical direction by John Oswald featuring the Toronto Symphony Orchestra with Maestro Bramwell Tovey, the Regent Park School of Music, Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre, and performers ranging in age from 10 to 70 from the Regent Park community and beyond. Community performances are supported by Artscape and Daniels Spectrum. The new park features a playground, splash pad, multi-purpose green space, a plaza for community events, an off-leash dog area, community gardens, a greenhouse, a bake oven, walkways and lush landscaping. |
